An open floor plan welcomes you into the living area furnished with a sizable couch, two recliners and an accent chair focused around a huge mounted flat screen TV. The couch is a queen sleeper couch that can be used for additional sleeping space if needed.

The open space leads into the kitchen and dining area where you will find seating for four at the dining table as well as two more at the bar.

An additional half bathroom and private office space also feed off the living area so you can find that ideal work life balance when you visit the coast!

Outdoor entertaining and relaxation is painless on both porches! The front porch offers rockers where you can sit and listen to the waves crash and pelicans glide by over the water.

The back screened porch accepts you to dine outside without in comfort. The back porch also provides access to the backyard and the pool where you can make memories of a lifetime!

How to get the best Oak Island rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select vacation dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Mermaid Manor: Ocean View Home with Private Pool, Close to Beach Access has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
