How to book the best vacation home experience:

When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental & When to go:

  • Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Midtown hideaway 2 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
