Tips to get the very best vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Holden Beach. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, selecting, and booking the best Wilmington, NC vacation home:

  • To start, have your group choose date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. On Holden Beach Island has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
