How to get the best Wilmington, NC rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Carolina Beach. Book your Wilmington, NC rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and pick yourrental:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. MODERN Beach Home! Dogs Welcome! 6 Passenger Golf Cart & Free Town of CB Parking has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is optimal for your family.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Know before you go:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
