Finding the best Holden Beach vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your Wilmington, NC rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.

Choosing the best vacation rental:

  • Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. NEW to Proactive Vacations! \"The Bryant's\" is a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath home with Private Pool! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
