Welcome to the Ibis Cottage, a comfortable home located in the heart of Oak Island. Located on the beach side, you can have your toes in the sand within a 3-min. walk, or take a walk over to 49th Street Restaurant for dinner and drinks. Located blocks away from Publix Grocery and Middleton Park, you are close to all the action but not too close. Take full advantage of the calming and cavernous covered front porch to savor the striking outdoors or discover the island on one of four beach cruisers.

Freshly constructed and furnished in 2021, the Ibis Cottage features coastal décor with wood accents and neutral tones. With a handsome open concept, the main floor offers an abundance of natural light with vaulted ceilings. The completely equipped kitchen is completely open to the dining room, which accommodates up to six adults for a seated meal together. Prefer to dine outdoors? Set the outside dining table for dinner instead, conveniently located just off the kitchen under the screened back porch. In the kitchen, you will be pleasantly greeted with all stainless steel appliances and plenty of counter space. The living room is roomy and comfortably furnished for hanging out with family and friends. The focal point of this space is the 65” Samsung flat-screen TV. A guest bath can be found between the living room and guest bedrooms.

All three bedrooms are on the main floor of this home; the master suite with king bed, 50” Samsung flat screen and private bath, a guest bedroom with two twin beds (one with trundle) and 40" flat screen TV, and an additional guest bedroom with queen bed and 40” flat screen TV. Unwind and take in the serene setting of live oak treetops and blue sky from the interior living and outdoor decks. The Master bedroom has shared access to the back deck through sliding glass doors.

With so much outdoor space, plan to prepare out on the simple-to-use gas grille, or grab your favorite book and relax in the hammock under the shaded deck and live oaks.

Once settled in, the Ibis Cottage really becomes a home away from home, but better because it’s at the beach.

Oak Island vacation rental booking tips:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Reserve your Wilmington, NC rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the bestvacation home:

  • First, have your family agree to the best dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. NEW!—IBIS COTTAGE—Beach side retreat. Prime location with Bikes and Beach gear! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
