Strategies for getting the best Ocean Isle Beach vacation property experience:

When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home & When to go:

  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summer time is high season in Ocean Isle Beach. Reserve your rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Oasis Vacations, Sweet Tater, Pool, Elevator, Putting Green, Marsh Views has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, call the host before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
