Welcome to Narnia, a 5 bedroom oceanfront vacation home on Oak Island! If you're familiar with The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe — you'll understand why this comfortable coastal bungalow is named after the magical world of Narnia! There's so much to savor here, with a private boardwalk to the beach, multiple spaces for appreciating the expansive ocean vistas, and a completely refreshed kitchen. Plus, it's ideally located in the West Beach area, about a mile down the road from Lonerider and close to The Point.

On the main level, you'll find a bright, open floor plan for your family and friends to gather! The living space is complete with those marvelous vistas, an upsized sectional couch, two swivel chairs, and a huge flatscreen TV. The completely remodeled kitchen has quartz countertops, bespoke herringbone tile backsplash, stainless steel appliances, a drink refrigerator with an additional ice maker, a Keurig coffee maker, and bar seating for up to 4! A few steps away is the cavernous dining area with a striking wooden table that seats up to 8. The real star of the show is the broad oceanside deck that features multiple places to sit and relax while you listen to the calming sounds of the waves or watch the sunset with your favorite drink in hand.

Two bedrooms are located on this floor — both with queen-sized beds and coastal touches throughout. These bedrooms share a generous Jack and Jill bathroom with 2 toilets, 2 vanities, and a tub shower combination.

Upstairs features a dedicated workspace in the loft area and the remaining bedrooms! The first bedroom has a queen-size bed and is attached to an extended bathroom with another set of 2 toilets, 2 vanities, and a tub shower combination. The second bedroom on this level has two twin beds, and last but not least, the third bedroom features a vibrant bunkbed room with an additional daybed and flatscreen TV!

Heading to the ground level, you'll find a additional living space (also known as the “game room”) with a sizable flatscreen TV and plenty of board games! The third full bathroom with a shower and the laundry room are also on this level. Outside has a impressive shaded spot to sit, along with a shower with hot and cold water to rinse off the sand after a fun day out on the beach! Additional amenities include beach gear (like chairs and a wagon), high-speed internet for those who need to stay connected during their time here, and so much more! Ready to escape to Narnia? Book your next stay now!

Guest reservations of 3 to 21 nights come with a valuable credit to use towards beach gear units during your stay! You may use your credit for bicycles, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach carts, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and more! The choice is yours! For this home you are eligible for up to $315.00 credit on any beach gear! Book now to reserve your gear today!

Tips to get the perfect rental experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the most suitable vacation home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the best vacation rental:

  • Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Cottage w\/ 3 Floors & Renovated Kitchen: Escape to Narnia has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
