Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation home experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Carolina Beach. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing and booking your Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Pelican Alley - Gorgeous 2 bedroom \/ 2 bathroom oceanfront Carolina Beach proper has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is suitable for your family.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your invoice.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
