Tips to get the perfect Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

Getting the best value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many property management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Rivers Edge 223 at The River Hotel of Southport has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is optimal for your group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
