Tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is high season in Wrightsville Beach. Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your search:
- First, have your family select trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Sea La Vie #172 - 3 BD Soundfront Wrightsville Beach Condo w\/ Community Pool! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
