Vacation rental tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Ocean Isle Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Wilmington, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. \"Three Little Birds\" Canal home with boat dock has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC destination you simply love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Additional considerations:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
