Booking the best vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summertime is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to select the perfect rental home:

  • Start by having your family decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Double T By The Sea: Vintage Beach Home with Awe-Inspiring Views Close to Public has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
