“American Dream” is located on an upsized lot on a peaceful cul-de-sac with amazing vistas of the Bald Head Island golf course and lagoon. This beauty was completely restored and taken down to the studs in 2020 and will be open for new units Spring of 2021! The home has been professionally decorated and tons of upgrades and nice finishing touches. The lower level contains 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with a combo bath and shower. Bedroom 1 has a twin plus a bunk with a twin on top and a double bed on the bottom. Bedroom 2 has a queen-sized bed. Upstairs is the main living area with a gourmet / well outfitted kitchen, half bath, broad porch overlooking the great water vistas of the lagoon and 2 master suites. Both master suites include king beds and private baths. The 3rd level is a loft with great ocean vistas! It also contains a separate bedroom with 2 queens. Three four passenger golf carts are also supplied for your enjoyment with the beach being less than a min. cart ride away!

Bald Head Island Lighthouse and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Carolina Beach and Caswell Beach. Get the most from your rental budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Wilmington, NC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Have a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
