Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking the perfectrental home:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Brand New \/ Ocean Pearl (ready for \"Fun in the Sun\".) has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your family.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
