Tricks and tips to get the perfect Wilmington, NC rental home experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your Wilmington, NC vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking your prefectvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Brice Is Right - Private Pool has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
