Strategies to get the best Wilmington, NC rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Wilmington. To book the best rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the perfect vacation home:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Escape on the Cape - Riverfront Sunset Views in Downtown Wilmington has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a particular Wilmington, NC destination you long to visit, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
