Finding the best vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in Carolina Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Saltwater Shores, A Beachfront Retreat has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
During your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
