Our top Vacation rental tips:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Carolina Beach. To book the largest rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose and book the best Wilmington, NC vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Salty Hammocks B3 -- Oceanview, Pool, w\/ Linens Included has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC destination you are enamored with, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
