Tips to get the optimal Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Booking your Wilmington, NC vacation home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Selecting and booking the perfect Wilmington, NC vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Sandpiper Bay, On golf course, 3BR, 2BA, 1st floor Christmas Special 125 per nt has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
