Booking the best Carolina Beach vacation property experience:

When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home & When to go:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summertime is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. Book your Wilmington, NC rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Beautiful remodeled oceanfront condo w pool has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
