How to find the best Wilmington vacation rental experience:

When to book a Wilmington, NC rental home & When to go:

  • The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose and book yourvacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. The Regency - Houseboat Downtown has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
