Our top Carolina Beach rental booking tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning and choosing a perfect Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Two Minutes to the Ocean sleeps 4 has 2 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

More tips for your visit:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • During arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
