Wilmington, NC rental booking tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, consider changing your family's Wilmington, NC vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. ? Breezy, Open Condo, Steps from Beach and Boardwalk with Ocean Views & Pool ? has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is best for your vacation.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a particular Wilmington, NC destination you are crazy about, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
