Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Wilmington, NC attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book the rightvacation home:

  • To start, have your group decide on date ranges and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Oceanfront house with fireplace, central AC, W\/D & outdoor shower - dog-friendly has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rentals search.

Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
