Tips to get the optimal Wilmington, NC vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the largest rental home within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Wilmington, NC restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Wrightsville Dunes H-3C - Remodeled in 2024! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your group.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC beach you crave, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
